Developer to Pitch Plan for Development on Newark's Broadway

A five-story apartment building is envisioned for 40 and 42 Broadway, where a one-story building and a three-story building have long stood. 40 Broadway Ave, LLC of Kensington, Brooklyn, submitted an application to the Newark Zoning Board of Adjustment that says that 18 residential units, 823 square feet of retail space, and a gym are envisioned for the premises. Nine of the apartments would be one-bedroom units while the other nine apartments would be two-bedroom units. The new building would also include a rooftop terrace with pergolas and a game area, according to site plans from OCA Architects.
