The VUE- Riverview Terrace

The VUE-Riverview Terrace

In recent years, Newark's city center has been witnessing a transformation from the additions of venues such as the Prudential Center and NJPAC arts center, to the corporate presence of companies such as Audible and Panasonic. This transformation has been expanding to Newark's surrounding neighborhoods and districts to help support the city center's growth.

One such neighborhood is the Ironbound district, which the proposed project site is located. 'The VUE- Riverview Terrace' is situated along the south side of Raymond Boulevard, with views overlooking the Passaic River. The building's design looks to blend the traditional red and brown brick material pallet that the city is known for, with some more modern gray tones. The overall building volume was pushed and pulled, balconies introduced, and different materials were used in an effort to help energize the street facing facades. Storefront glazing along the street frontage helps to activate the pedestrian experience, while a large curtain wall element positioned at the intersection of Raymond Boulevard and Lexington Street acts as a 'gateway' of sorts for vehicles traveling along Raymond.

Some of the building amenities which will be provided include a fitness room, lounge space, EV charging, as well as as roof top terrace overlooking the riverfront. Acting as a quasi front yard to the building, Newark's riverfront park across the street offers access to walking and biking trail, open green areas as well as recreation spaces.

OCA Architect look forward to being part of Newark's continued growth.
