NYCSCA Q510 High School

Q510 High School

OCA Architects was selected by The New York City School Construction Authority (NYSCA) who is undertaking a transformative project in College Point, Queens, focused on the acquisition, design, and renovation of an existing catholic school building to establish new high school facility. Located on an approximately 47,592 square feet lot, the renovated facility is strategically designed to include 18 classrooms for 599 students, 9th through 12th graders, two special education classrooms, and dedicated spaces for music, art, science, and more. This initiative is driven by the need to address overcrowding in Queens’ existing high schools, anticipate changes in future student enrollment, and align with the Department of Education’s policies on class size reduction. By repurposing this existing infrastructure, the NYSCA aims to create a modern, dynamic learning environment that supports the community’s educational needs and contribute to a sustainable and thriving future.
